ps2 chip detection

just bought a second hand ps2. it is already chipped - will play back up ps2 games and original ps1 and 2 games , muic but not dvds or copied ps1 games. how do i find out what version of ps2 i have and also which chip i have. all i do is put back up ps2 game in machine and either click on browser confif or just let it load.
last question ! what is the config supposed to be set to [smooth fast etc?]. ta.

i dont know about the other questions that you posed, but for the ps2 identification, check out the new ps2 id guide posted by megagames.com. go to the "game fixes", "console games" on the left side of the homepage. then click on ps2. and on the right side, is the guide. as for the mod id, u probably have to open the ps2 to be able to identify it. hope this helps.
