Layouts How?

I had no luck in finding a gfx artist to make me a layout for my site however i have many ideas on what i want my layout to look like so i'll thought i'll do it myself.

But How?

I have:
Fireworks MX 2004
Paint Shop Pro 8

I also was told photoshop was good so if needed i will get it.

Somebody please help.

I have decided to do it myself as i want to inprove my stills but i do want to build up a whole web team with graphic designers, programmers and moderators to make my two sites.
