Spellforce 1.05 crack not working?

Just wondering if there is gonna be a noCD crack for this version, finally got v1.03 working, after some messing about, aint gonna install 1.05 yet, untill a nocd crack has been released.

I cannot believe this game made it to retail at all, soo many bugs, and thats just at the start of the game, did i say game, i ment mess...

it even lands on your desktop if you're switching locations. the crack is much to instabil for playing. i think a noob made this crack

ok i got the pacth of megagames and installed upto patch 1.05 tho when i goto create a new character it crashs and i cannot play multi in it coz it crashs any1 have the same prop?

/me is german. locations means maps. you cant walk through stargates into places where you have never been before. your game's gonna crash.

Starting to wonder if this game is crackable (properly)?

Reason i come to this conclusion.

Spellforce released (no need for a nocd crack, one was created anyways)
1st patch released (v1.02 lasted all of 1 day before a 2nd patch was released)
2nd Patch released (v1.03, no crack released, someone tired of waiting made on himself by enhancing the v1.01 crack)
3rd patch released (v1.05, this is an important patch that allows your character/s to go above level 12 were a bug stopped this from happening, however again no crack group has released a nocd, left to someone to have a go, released a non-working one)

So far to me its Jowood 3, others 1, does this mean this company is getting the better of us? or is it that peeps carnt be bothered with this game cos its not good enough?

Am just wondering here, cos at first i thought the cracking groups were holding back on this title due to all its bugs and on every patch release there is some new form of protection added, however now i am starting to think otherwise, and that this carnt be properly done..

P.S I would try myself to create a crack for this game, however i honestly dont know where to begin or how to start, therefore have to rely on the cracking groups (who have hardly ever let us down). This post is NOT against them or a complaint, its just simply starting to look to me and i must say a few others (who wouldnt post so i said i would), that this game is becomming beyond them.

Here's another theory on this game

Reason we aint seen much in nocd cracks is cos the game aint hit the states as of yet. Its prolly were all the crackers live aint it?

what does living in a region have to do with anything? if they released the game they can certainly create cracks for patches

I sent an email to the crack's programmer, and i asked him to take another look at it, maybe he can fix the crashing issues ...

And BTW, to those who cannot install the 1.05 patch, it's very simple really ...

After you install Spellforce (the Fairlight release), delete (or rename it, whatever you prefer) Spellforce.exe and RENAME the Spellforce.dat into Spellforce.exe ... apply the 1.05 and wait for a good crack :D

Great board, I just found it after googling for another crack to solve the same problem (I am also looking for a decent solution).

However, I believe I have just found a work around which appears from a 15 minute check to work without problems. Simply 'hot swap' the ar.exe files whilst playing the game!

After experimenting with the game it seems that the serial number bypass is only required initially. So after firing up the game using the 1.05 crack, alt tab back to windows, (I did this after loading my save but I figure it should work at the campaign / multiplayer options screen), go into the spellforce directory, rename the hacked ar.exe to something else (ie Xar.exe) and rename the original (1.05 patched) ar.exe back to ar.exe. If you followed the 1.05 crack instructions the file will be orig_ar.exe, this needs to be renamed back to ar.exe

Then resume the game and gates, transistions etc will work.

HOWEVER, you will of course need to reverse the renaming of the ar.exe file whenever you wish to start the game up otherwise you will get the illegal serial / modified exe error.

Be aware that Alt-tabbing can cause games to crash. Perhaps someone with IT skills could write a small batch program that automatically does the file renaming?

Now if anyone could tell me how to get to the chest hidden by a tree on the rightside of the city of greyfell (you enter from the left) that would be appreciated.

OK I posted instructions on how to make a working almost crash free crack on another thread, i made one and it works but the game crashes every half hour......................meh............at least it works unlike the noob's crack that crashed when you start a new game.

ok, this is the simple batch file i made myself to auto swap the 2 files. (make sure you have them as ar.exe and ar_orig.exe prior to running the batch file, or you could change the batch file to suit yourself). Rename to *.BAT and run it .

BOSSMANCG,since you can contact the cracker who did the 1.05 crack, perhaps you can inform him that hot-swapping the original ar.exe and the cracked one can resolve the gamecrashing whenever you load a new area. might just help in ushering that real crack were all waiting for :)

bob156, the ar_orig.exe is simply the renamed ar.exe afteryou have just patched the game to 1.05. copy over ar.exe from the crack you can download here, and the spellforce_c.exe as well,and you have the 3 essential files to play this game without your cd ;)

Torro, I have not had the crashing problem with reloads from the main menu, although I tend to use quick saves and quick loads.

well, upon further playing and testing, i haven't encountered a single reload failure from the main screen ,after countless load,exit(to main menu) repetitions. No idea how i got that bug earlier on .as far as i'm concerned ,now, this seems like a proper 1.05 patched up game running without the cd :) . oh, but for a minor glitch;after that many reloads, the game seemed to suffer from some memory leak and gradually began to run slower and load slower as well. a complete restart of the game solves the problem though .


EDIT: you mentioned about quicksave and quickload? the patch update didn't say anything about a mapped quicksave button,only the quickload (f9?) . so what is the quicksave button ?

Quick save = F7 Quick load = F9
F1 - F6 selects avatar and heros. I dont know what F8 does.

Does anyone know if there is a select all combat units key?

Hi! I am from germany and did test your crack. Its working but if i want to go to a new map ( like godwall) the game crash. But i can go back to all old locations and travel around. Does it not work with old savegames???? Should i make a new game to work with your crack???? PLZ help.

You have the old version of the crack unless you got the one from two posts up. It should work 100% for English version. I'm not sure about the German version as I don't own it to test. In the readme.txt I mention doing a full re-install so you might want to try that or just start a new character. Hope that helps.

Ok i will try it soon. By the way , does the size of the ar.exe matter??? After install of the game its around 3 MBs big and in Fairlights Release of 1.01 Crack its only 28 kbs big.

Yes, SIZE DOES MATTER :)

The AR.EXE file should be about 3.08MB for 1.05. The 28k version of AR.exe was for a different version than 1.05. If you follow the instructions in the readme.txt and you have ENG version, then it should work. I'm not sure about the german version. :(

I didn´t reinstall and I didn´t start a new game. Just patched the game from 1.03 to 1.05 and applied the crack.

The crack still doesn't work with me. I got the latest one from this topic which swaps the two ar.exe files, but I still can't change maps. The games crashes every time. I've got the english version and tryed a reinstall.
Anymore ideas how to fix this?
