Hi there,

I have problems burning PS2 games.

I have tried expensive DvD -R's, I have tried to burn different games (Vice City, Tony Hawk and TOCA racing) without any success.

With the expensive/better DvD -R's I get the following error during the verification round in the program 'RecordNow MAX':

terminated with errors
error - 10 at sector xxxxxx - Command: 28 Sense: 03 ASC: 02 ASCQ:00

With cheap DvD's I don't get errors. What's wrong? :grayupset

When I try to run the game on my PS2 (old model, 10 screws / modchip which runs with AR2) I just hear a high whisteling sound and that's it.

I am burning at 1x speed with a NEC ND 1300A -/+ burner.

I really don't know how to solve the problem. Help is very much needed.

What media are you using ?? as saying cheap or expensive dont tell much.
I would suggest trying dvdrs that use the ritek dye, dark purple bottom, thats if you hav'nt tryed them before.
You also say its a old model, and your using a AR, with that method of booting you need to do a double swap on dvd games, and the old model ps2's had picky lasers.

Thanks, Jedi Master.

Allright, here are the facts:
- PS2, model 2 or 3
- Modchip (I think NEO...)
- Action Replay, version 1.3 (saw this in the options-screen), (the swap works with PS1-games and PS2 CDR-games)
- Burner: NEC ND1300A (burns +/-.......burning movies: no probs)
- Media: Fuiji, Sentinel, Mmore and Maxell (all DvD -R), (they are all purple)
- Error during verification round in RecordNow (with Mmore and Maxell): terminated with errors
error - 10 at sector xxxxxx - Command: 28 Sense: 03 ASC: 02 ASCQ:00
- No errors with Fuiji or Sentinell. Instead the playstation does nothing. When I hold the reset-button 4 seconds nothing happens. When I hold the reset-button 30 seconds I hear a high whisteling sound, but again nothing happens.
- Software: Stomp RecordNow MAX (4.5), Nero (5.5), CDRWIN

:redconfus Oh, by the way: how do you do a double swap? :hands:

So far I have heard that the problem might be: the chip, my PS2, my burner or the media. I really would like to narrow down the possibilities.

Could somebody help me out, please?

Try DVD Decrypter, I find it's better for PS2 DVD games, and the best part is it's free! I use NEC as well and have no probs.

AS your using a AR , i take it you use a swap method to boot ps2 games. That version of action replay cant boot dvdr games. You need a Version 1.7,1.9 or 2.The action replay max cant boot dvdrs ether.

Dont forget dvdrs need a double swap , needing one of those AR's i just mentioned and a dvd original game that has a bigger TOC than the dvdr game.

Hi,

I came up with the same problem with backups of the CD version PS2 games (whisteling sounds but no game, the whisteling is the laser trying to read from the disk). What i did was changing the laser settings, you must open your PS2 to be able to reach two very tiny potentiometers.

Look on the net to find some information on this because it's dangerous to change the current setting without knowing how to do this (could damage the laser).

Unfortunately I don't have the information anymore.

There are sites with picture and information how to do this.

Good luck.

Thanks,

Where can I get those versions of AR2? Do I have to buy it again or can I copy it somehow?

Where can I find a guide for the double swap?
