GAmeshark with Modded PS2?

I have a Modded/Chipped PS2 I think the name of the chip I have is a Magic something or other but ever since I have had my PS2 chipped I haven't been able to use the gameshark for the cheat codes.

Do not get me wrong I would much rather use the copied games over using the gameshark But I am very curious to if there is a way to use the gameshark with the chip and the copied games.

Yes ,you should just be able to use it like normal.I got a messiah chip in my ps2 and I just load up ther cheat device ,select the codes ,start game with codes ,swap for backup and press X.

One thing ,the codes won't work on dvdrips ,only work on 1:1 copies.
