so confused with swap magic

i have a ps2 version 7. when i go to order on the web it states that i need a mod chip. whats the point of swap magic if i need a mod chip?

do i need a gameshark and a mod chip?

can someone explain what is going on here

You do not need a modchip if you buy the swap magic disks, that's the whole point of them to avoid damage to your PS2.

You need some way of opening the tray without the ps2 knowing for them to work.Which means you either need a mod ,a fliptop or use the knife/slidecard method to get the tray open.

i just got my swap magic disks, i am happy very happy with, the games that dont play with swap magic im not interested in, if i want it that bad ill just buy it(lol) thanks for the help.at the web site swapmagicfix.com do i just download thecogswap and cdloader (would i need a mod chip or would it just load up?), also is there any web sites that let you download ps2 games?

there are plenty of games there.. xbox and ps2
try taking the screws out of your ps2 and just inserting the disc without opening the tray..from the top..

Just take the top off your PS2 and swap the disc from there , you dont need a mod chip or slide card if you take off the top of the console. The PS2 is going to see a price drop in march, that is when they will start shiping with there new chips..
