anyone have any experience with this? I've seen some video that was encoded with it, and it looked surperb (though I guess for a $3000 app it should)

That sounds mighty expensive mate...Have you tried "TMPGEnc"

This does the same thing, does it not and its free....

Yeah, I know of TMPGEnc. I've played with it a bit myself.

Costs depends on how you think ;)

I was just asking if anyone had used it.

I know what you mean. Unfortuantely, Cinemacraft Encoder requires a P3, placing it out of reach for my P2 266 :(

I do have it though, just unuseable.

I currently just aquire (S)VCDs.....when I finally get a machine, I'll be able to rip and convert.

Comparing the quality of CCE SP streams to TMPGEnc streams, the CCE streams have much better quality every time.

At the places I frequent, it appears that CCE is beginning to become the tool of choice.

Watcha mate....a new machine ya after ehhh...Well i just recently upgraded my comp. Was running a 500 speed on a desktop "AT" board but now i have a "ATX" 1100 with an Athlon Duran chip but the board is capable of taking over 2gig.I got a new tower, board, chip and 128 ram ( kit form ) for £220....So it dont have to cost an arm and leg, just dont buy one off the shelf,as it were......RE..CCE....any chance you giving me a link to a download site,i think me would like to take a good look at it...

Cheers,,,

www.cinemacraft.com

I actually want to build a P4 machine. Get the Gigabyte GA-8IHXP mobo and a 2.4GHZ chip plus the Radeon 9700 Pro.

I did want to build a Athlon, but I'll wait until the Hammer chip hits the market so that the XP 2600+ will be availible for CHEAP!

Sounds like you have a nice comp there. Have fun with it. :)

PS. check your PMs ;)
