SVCD on a dvdr does'nt work ive tryed. Only way to get the avi onto dvdr so they play is to convert to dvd format.
To burn dvdrs i would have to say record now max.
I think nero will auto convert the avis to dvdr format, dont know what the quality will be like,i would say use tmpgenc to convert the avi to dvdr format, then burn with another program.

Hi,
Nero express will convert the files as already stated, but when I tried it the results were dreadfull, maybe I was doing it wrong but the video & audio were out of sync.Could be a waste of several hours if you have an older machine.
After you've managed to convert the avi's into the correct format, you could use the likes of pinnacle studio/sonic my dvd to put multiple video's onto 1 dvd with a menu system, but obviously the total file size including the new menu's cannot exceed 4.3gb.
I've done a similar process with capturing peoples wedding video's etc off vhs/vhs-c then putting multiple video's onto 1 dvd.

Also a nice option!
Convert your files to mpeg and then use the trial version of Adobe Encore DVD, wich you can download on the adobe site. Its a big program but its perfect to authore you homemade dvd's for home or pro use. But before you download the trial first check if your burner is in theyre list of supported burners. There is also a burn option built in zo u can convert the mpeg files strait to .vob , .sup etc and burn it strait on your dvd-r or +r
