Problem with vice city

had to reinstall my os and reload vice city. and yes I do own it. but tried installing the no cd patch and the game wont start.. also tried some from a few different sites and none of them work.. any changes I make to the .exe cause it not to run anymore.. doesn;'t give me an error or anything.. just doesn't do anything.. did I forget something??? had it working before and I've reload the game 3 times now and still nothing.. the game works if I don't patch it so it is getting installed.. just would like to not have to and some of the city mods I use require me to mod the .exe to run..

try updating your video card drivers and direct x, if you havent done so already

I hav had some probelms with the no-cds so i made some ISO files then used a vertual cd drive to play the game.

Maybe the crack is not the same version of your game...
If your game for example is 1.01 (i dont know the versions of Vice City..) so you should install a 1.01 no-Cd crack...

nope updated to newest vid and DirectX versions first thing after install.. the game is version 1.0 used the 1.1 update and could play with the cd but then when I try the 1.1 no cd or any of the mods that I have that edit the exe it doesn't work... I click to start the game and I get nothing.. mouse goes to an hourglass for a sec then nothing.. I watched my processes and the gta-vc.exe shows up for a sec then closes on it's own..

So you are sure you have same version on patch and crack ?

Try a different crack, either from www.megagames.com (http://www.megagames.com) or www.gamecopyworld.com (http://www.gamecopyworld.com)

ahm ok...when you have install the copy and it isn't works , maybe you have a rohling like "microspot" or so...with me was it like that

I uninstalled and then reinstalled the game one more time and now it won't work at all.. I checked my cd's ands there is a tiny pinhole in the first cd.. my guess this is what's causing all my problems.. gonna get a copy from a friend to get a good install... damn fragile cd's... this is reason #1 for why we should have no restrictions on making backup copies of original cd's...

Maybe you need to crack it.I had some probs too,but now it's running fine.
