Sw kotor doesn't really work

Hy!
can anyone help me? sw kotor doesn't work! after playing 15 min, the monitor goes black and the game freezes!
i just don't know what to do!
i have the newest drivers a xp 2000+ radeon 9700pro 512 mbRam
what shuld i do?

Try turning off the VPU recover option?
Disable any overclocking on the vid-card?

I had that problem in a few games, the screen would go black, monitor would shut off. I would alt-tab, close the error from the "VPU recover" and go back into the game no problem, though I could not always alt-tab out of it.
