New system, won't work.

I just got finished building a new system and push the button to start it and to my horror nothing happens. No beeps, lights, fans, or anything. It is almost like I don't have it pluged in. I figured the 2 main causes would be a faulty case or power supply am I correct?

souds correct... i know this sounds silly, but have you checked all power cabled? even the one from the power supply to the mainboard?

and you have the case button attached to the mobo as well? try clearing the CMOS battery maybe. sounds like your PSU though if nothing happens at all

have u made sure that the power lead is in. the ATX connection on the mobo is ok. and the wot that gets me most of the time is the little wire from the power switch on the case to the mobo. make sure it is in the right place, if it is in the right place make sure it is the right way round. hate those dam things myself. make sure the mobo is not ground on the case. RAM, PCI cards can cause this. but most like the wire from the power switch is wrong
