backing up pheonix nights 2 dvd

hi,
i am trying to back up peter kays pheonix nights 2 using smart ripper and clone dvd.
i think i have done everything right but clone dvd tells me that it cant read one of the files.
is there anywhere where i can get full written instructions on backing up dvds?
