I am currently running AVG while I save up for Norton. Everything is pretty much set to default so anyone who uses it may understand some of what I'm saying better. I believe that AVG runs a scheduled check, and when this is down, I get a virus warning. It says that it has found "Trojan horse Dropper.Swicer.A" It then says "To remove this virus, please run AVG for Windows". So naturaly I do. The search, however, turns over nothing, says that I am virus free. I tried the Norton online security and got the same result, virus free. I checked for virus removal instructions but could find none. This has been going on for a while and I believe it is time to do something about it. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Down load a trojan remover m8, you can take your pick from these:

Trojan Remover (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=trojan+remover)

Have you at least been able to quarantine the Trojan?
If so, you should see what file is infected. If it isn't an important file, delete it.

But also do as BRICK said :)

My son had the self same " Virus " M8 .. like you .. I searched for info but found none .. however .. the " Free " AVG6 will identify but not remove it .. I installed my own AVG6 Pro for him and it removed the virus without problem :)

Thanks Rocol. Interesting thing about that though. When I ran a full detailed scan it didn't show that trojan, but it did came up with a different virus, another trojan. Oh well, it's working so far, if they're not careful, I may just have to buy it ;)

Close enough for government work. ;) I'm thinkn' I might want to wait and get Norton though. As opposed to AVG. I guess I should do a little research first though.
