LotR: Return of the King not finding original CD

My brother just bought this game and he installed it fine, but when he went to play it, it asked for the "play" CD, he puts it in but it is not recognized by the game, although it is viewable in Windows.

I could try a no-cd patch but I'd rather not, the original CD should work just fine me thinks....

I don't think there are any patches out yet, but if there are can someone point me in the direction?

WTH? Not normal!
You should take back the game to the store and ask another one, or contact the game company...
You paid for a CD that works without having to search how to make it work.

I would check for support @ www.ea.com (http://www.ea.com)

if that doesn't help, you should get another cd

lastly you might need to use a crack

if you have more than one CDrom drive i know that some games will only work if u put it in the same drive u installed it. but knowing EA. The game most prob needs a patch for it.

I think he's going to try to even exchange it at Best Buy where he bought it. If that don't fix it, I don't know what the problem is. He only has one CDRW drive and other games have worked fine.

Try uninstalling any CD emulator apps like Deamon tools. That should fix your problem :)
