I made a backup of Call of Duty at a friends house (I dont have a burner). The original CD installs and plays fine, and I can use my backup CD 1 to play the game, but if I uninstall and try to reinstall from my backups, it installs the whole of CD 1, asks for CD 2 but won't accept it when I put it in. After many hours of internet scouring, I found this was due to Safedisk 2.9 copy protection. I made an image using CloneCD, and extracted using WinISO, then deleted the file "00000001.TMP" and tried installing from this exctracted copy, but it still wouldn't accept CD2, even after Clony had verified there was no copy protection in the Call of Duyt folder, can anyone help me?

That's strange, my copy works just fine...
copied with CloneCD at low speed (4x) and FAST ERROR SKIP option enabled (but my burner is supported by CloneCD)

You can also try the tips and tools mentioned here:

Just name the cds COD1 and COD2 and they should work fine.

Just name the cds COD1 and COD2 and they should work fine.Try dragging everything from both cds on to your harddrive and install that way. It should work.:)

I too had this same problem, I tried extracting with WinISO and that XXL thing. All i did was go into My Computer / Right click on COD2 and select explore / Copied the 4 .pk3 files from \main directory / Paisted them into c:\program files\call of duty\main\. I just did this and got it to run. I will post if anything goes wrong. You can post this fix on other message boards if it works for you too.
