DID you all hear about Rare leaving nintendo.
This means no more Killer Instinct 3,Perfect dark 0,Donkey kong 3,or any other great games that they made for nintendo.
This really pisses me of as this is one of the reasons I bought a gamecube.
Rare has a **** load of great games and now I'm stuck with a peice of **** gamecube with all the good games being scrapt.
Whats the point of even having a cube anyway?
It sure in the hell isn't for the new zelda.
What happen to nintendo they used to be a good comany now they are just a big peice of ****.

I think I will just go and buy a ps2 again!!!!

Where did you hear this news? I don't think Rare is leaving Nintendo... and if they do, they will still be a third party developer.

dont worry dont worry! you konw those genius` that made eternal darkness? thyre called silicon knights, they work second party for ninty. anyways this developement team is the new rare. ninty took 5 good developers from rare and now they work for silicon knights.
Dk and all other ninty property is gonna be made by silicon knights. and DKR isnt scrapped, ninty are finsishing off. all we really lost was PD zero, conker, banjo and kameo.
and remember, weve still got sega, capcoms resi series all excclusive and some good acclaim and namco titles, its not too bad really!

Anubis- i like ur atitude!:grin2: but i think u will be even more angry when you hear that nintendo had the oportunity to buy the other half of RARE and have them for their own. i also agree that nintedo is going down with th loss of RARE, and zelda will NOT save them

seriously though, it does seem that microsoft have officially bought RARE.

Microsoft can buy anything.... anyway, RARE isn't that big of a loss as fatman junior said. Perfect Dark Zero would be the best game that was lost, and it doesn't really matter because GC is having other parties make more games for the system, such as Time Splitters 2.

Yeah I know, but I am saying that more third party developers are making games for GameCube, unlike Nintendo 64. So, even though Rare was lost, it would be a much bigger loss to the N64 console, and not as much to the GC console.

Ya got it all wrong.

MS has tried to avoid tangling with Nintendo. MS reasons for buying Rare had more to do with build up for their fight with Sony.

MS offered to buy Nintendo for 24 billion and was warmingly but regretably rejected(the CEO nixed the offer though most of the shareholders were salivating at the prospect).

MS and THQ recently signed a deal with Nintendo allowing for future ports of Xclusives to go to the GBA. In return, Nintendo would allow select characters to have Xclusive versions of Nintendo productions.
Mario X by 2005? I wouldn't bet against it.

Nintendo might not have sold out to MS, but they definitely earned a way into the MS sphere of influence. Nintendo doesn't need to fight Sony, only ride in the XBX's draft.

bill gates hims self is wroth like 42 billion dollers.. he was worth 40 billion then its gone up 2 billion since that court agreement not to punish ms anymore and if your look at the market ms owns and its combind wealth its probly in the trillions! at least it makes 27 billion in profits a year thats just insanly alot of money!!

nintendo aint goin down cause of rares departure, they are very good yes, but no better than most others out there.
My best rare games are donkey kong country and killer instinct. Perfect Dark was a copy of GoldenEye which was developed by part of rare who are now Free Radical (timsplitters) so to be honest i for one dont mind that they have gone, and now xbox might get a decent game!

i agree the machine is better, and is certanly is much better than PS2 , but its all down to games and xbox has mimmiked Sony by using the "you got 6 months, make me a game" approach. What you end up with is a majority of games that are typical console games and one killer hit ie HALO. Plus most of these games are availiable on all formats anyway.
That doesnt mean gamecube doesnt have these games cause it does but gc has more and better exclusive games so far and more to come so I reckon its the best machine for games.
This has nothing to do with rare leaving nintendo so this is the part i ask myself "what the hell are you talking about"
