SegaNet servers free for rest of 2002

It appears that Sega announced on August 1st that they are discontinuing their Dreamcast subscription service and, until the end of 2002, the SegaNet servers will be available to all online gamers. I've never personally used it myself, but those of you that want to play online that missed this announcement may want to check it out. Basically, it is unlimited head-to-head online gameplay via SegaNet through the end of 2002.

After that, Sega will shift their online focus to other platforms -- and will start shutting down the DC servers...

P.S. Note that PSOv2 is stil pay-to-play. It is the exception.

yeah, i love my DC. I'm even selling my PS2 and keeping the DC.
the PS2 hasn't even been switched on for a month or two since i got my standalone DVD player, i'm gonna sell the PS2 and get a Pioneer ar-04

i haven't found a single game on the PS2 that really makes me want to play it again. where-as the DC has games that have me really hooked :)

Yeah rogueingreen has always disliked our freind the PS2 :p I don't undestand why, but he prefers his dreamcast.

Yeah dreamcast is kewl I have one too, but I do prefer my PS2 and/or Gamecube at times rather then the DC.

dc is way better than ps2, although there are no more games being relased for it, it would have beaten the ps2 so much if the ps2 hadnt been so overhyped, i know loads of people who are selling their ps2 now cos there are no decent games apart from gta3, which is now out on pc now anyway (mgs2 was too repetitive) theyre all buying x-boxes now

I'm with rogue on this one...

I absolutely love my dc...

haven't played online with it for a while though...may have to dust off that q3 cd...

You can try mgs 2 specialy FF 10 that takes a long time.
