Hi guys, I've purchased the game Chrome. Everything is going well except it wont start.......umm so I guess all isn't really going well lol. Anyway I click the shortcut and this happens :

Black screen,
White flickers,
Error Message :

CHROMEENGINE2.DLL has caused an illegal operation,
if the problem persists try restarting.

then you have to close it and thats that.....I've updated to the latest version and re-installed 4 times. Tried all the obvious things, can't seem to get it to work. ... Posted a plea for help on the offcial forums and the kind son of a +++++es wont reply.....well not in 3 days anyway...I'm still waiting on them but the garuntee on this thing is running out and need to sort it or take it back.

Windows ME
1.4gig AMD Athlon
Geforce 2 mx
256 ddr ram

Anyone got any ideas ?

Cheers very much guys - appreciate anything you can throw on the matter.

Iron.

Update your graphic drivers and get latest Direct X.

Moving to Software support.

Hmmm, I think it is a graph card driver problem indeed. If that doesn't solve the problem, you should try installing it on another PC. If it still fails there, chances are big it is the CD who is screwed.

In that case, go to the store and ask your money back.
You can also try to find that screwed dll file and replace it with a good one.

I noticed you system specs...I think it is Windows ME. Nothing runs right in that OS. Just a thought. Go back to 98 or up to 2000 or XP.

O0h my! Didn't notice it :D
Skullcrusha is correct... windows ME makes many problems with many programs/games. You should really consider getting another Windows.
But try the other suggestions as well, you never know.

Hmm well I never had any problems with games on Win ME.I had just as many problems on winMe as on 98 and 98SE - blue screens, illegal ops messgaes left and right, lock up after lock up. *sigh*
