I had encountered a problem in Windows 2000.

I had installed a PC game - Grandia 2 - on my windows 2000. In the end of the installation, it asked me to change back to disk 1 (the game has 2 disks), which I DIDN'T and instead press the wrong button to SKIP it.

Now, it has not register probably on my computer registry. (I think) Whenever I wanted to remove it from "Add/Remove Program" in "Control Panel", it prompted me that it had been removed. However, the icon/program remained there, as if it were to be still registered in my computer.

I tried to reinstall the program (in hope that it will re-write the registry), it prompted to me removed the program, instead of the normal installation setup. When I press yes to remove, it then said that it has been removed. However, when I check "Add/Remove Program" again, it is still there. I CANNOT remove that program and hence I CANNOT reinstall the program.

I had encountered this problem before with another 2 disks game. Can anyone please tell me how I can manually remove it from windows registry? (Which I think is the solution) If not, what can I do? (Apart from reinstalling windows?)

Super thanks in advance.

Any version of regcleaner should pick up and remove the homeless keys.

Just try and reinsall it again though, i know you said it told you to please remove the first. Bu t you then go onto say that it removed the first install, theres a chance it may have taken the keys with it.

Try to reinstall twice, its a longshot but it might work.

If it dont work then get a regcleaner, search in google there are many.

Hope it helps

Thanks, I will try to get a regcleaner on google then cause it wouldn't let me reinstall the program.
