Is xbox a failure?

I am not bashing the xbox or anything like that I am just giveing my opinion on the subject.

Anyways In every country besides America the xbox is a complete failure. Take japan for example They havent even sold 250,000 units yet its basically dead there. I dont think xbox live will be any more of a hit there. If xbox doesnt do good in other countrys this could be microsofts last console. That or they might realease a xbox 2 a little sooner than they would want who knows.

Well whats your thoughts on the subject.

I think it was ova hyped.....Its a very good console with some cool games coming out but i wouldnt call it a failure...it jus hasnt done aswell as ps2!! ;)

NO !!! xbox is not a failure. the way i see it is, the xbox ''scene'' is taking off terrificly well now, whereas the ps2 is slowly dying already. just look at the games that are starting to come out for ps2, all jap crap.
japan domintes a huge percentage of the gaming world, and they dont like the xbox. thats why ppl are seeing it as a failure. lets admit, the Gamecube hasnt exactly been a success story either has it, but no1 says a word about that. only reason they have a go at xbox is because they dont have one, and they know its a big threat to their ps2, especially when xbox goes live.
why else would sony be releasing the ps3 so soon ? because they know aswell, that the ps2 is dying off and xbox will be favourite ''EVENTUALLY'' ....

i dont favour any console, infact i hardly play on my consoles but i will say this, the odd times i do play on them, 9 times out of 10 its the xbox that gets its legs stretched. my ps2 is but a mere dust collector.

sorry if i sound a bit blunt tonight, but i cannot really be assed. especially when newcastle dominate a game and lose by a flooky early goal. :( :mad: ..... so tonight, im just telling it how it is :)

the xbox has only really done badly in Japan. and half of that is down to the fact they are stuburn. thats why we shouldnt really be taking sale figures from japan as a guide to sales around the rest of the world. 2 of my mates have bougt Gamecubes and sold them again a few weeks later.

so why is no1 trying to have a go at the Gamecube ?

lets not beat about the bush here ok. YOU know and I know, Piracy plays a VERY big part in console sales. congrats to the japs, it looks like they have an uncrackable (to a certain extent) machine there. but ermmm not very clever for their sales is it ? :)

Xbox has taken off ever since the extender/enighmah/neo-x chips arrived on the seen. and since then, the ability to play divx movies, mp3's, n64 emulators etc etc has all come about.

ps2 stil lhasnt managed to get vcd's streaming yet :(.
if we were to look at this at a different approach, where both ps2 and xbox were launched on the same dates, i think we would find some interesting sales figures indeedy. you only have to look at ''PS2OWNZ'' to see that the ps2 is dying off. thats a ps2 dev site yet half of the time, the news is about newer xbox developements. i know thats not really a valid arguement but nevertheless .........

anyways, im sick of these console threads, they were interesting at the start but after 2000 of them it starts to get a wee bit boring. :)

Personally, I wouldn't buy an XBOX, just because I don't really like the games, except for a few like Halo. But I don't buy systems for first person shooters... It's not a failure though...

how is it a failure? LOL xbox set the record for the largest game attach rate to a console at launch...IT WAS 3 GAMES PER CONSOLE....THATS A RECORD PS2...OR GC COULDNT BREAK

Ps2 is good
The games are good, but there is no real cool games , no inovative games, still the online stuff is great, but you can't be at the same height on INTERNET gaming as Microsoft, still i don't think that sony will just sit and watch.

Xbox has an awsome potential
This console has incredible hardware and could do a lot better than ps2, but just a couple of games really kicked the crabs out of the supreme hard, i mean dead to rights is good , but it could be better, still there are some cool gamez coming soon, so i would not say that this one is a failure, microsoft has an huge budget and Sony just have a couple bucks, so eventually , sony will lose on money. Sorry, that is real life. I am buying this one.

i think that nintendo should swallow their pride (like SEGA) and just dedicate to make games(by the way, Sega is doing great lately). nintendo make the best games by far, the characters rock and so do the games, compared to zelda, halo is the equivalent of universal studios. I'd buy a GC and I love Sega too... For some strange reason it seems that the majority of gamers like to play the same games over and over again, even though the only difference is slightly different gfx every 6 months or so.

OK, now i am back.

Xbox RuLeZ - i am buying this one. Controllers and Graphics make games cooler than ever.
Ps2 - This is a great console. Games like MG2 make the difference.
GC - MAN! , this ZuCkZ. Hmmmp.... they have the slowest console ever, i went to E3 and the nintendo stand Sucked big time (by the way did you saw the ID Software stand, that rulez, and so did microsoft.)

Now, i am not a fanboy.
I buyed NES, Sega Genesis, Ps1 and now i am buying Xbox

You will find some cool stuff on each, but so far i think that microsoft is the coolest at the moment...
