I myself am not sure... There are ways around serials, but why would you want to change a serial number?

Why would you want to do that?
Dont give you Serials to others and dont take from others.... you cant play together with the same serial anyway...
I only know how to change HL serial...

hmm.. you go to the windows/winnt folder and find REGEDIT click this. find HKEY_CURRENT_USER i think it is this one.. if not try an other of the HKEY_.
Under HKEY find software and the game. You should be able to see you current serial under there.

I don't think that shows the serials... You can however change those to make the game you have think it is a different version...

Use 2 originals with 2 unique cd keys.

I think what he is saying is he doesnt want to have to reinstall to enter the key from the second store bought copy. And yes, most of the time you can change the key in the registry. Some games have text files in the game directory that store the keys and some save them in the registry. There have been a few that I have not found in either place, so I am assuming it gets put in a dll file or something, in which case I think you would need a hex editor to view.

As stated above, you can find which key is in ues by looking at the jewel case that came with your game.
