This is what I posted at another site. It is any game not just nascar 2002!!! My computers are haunted!! Okay first I decided to reformat my family computer as I have done several times without any problems at all!! Okay I installed the os and installed the service pack / drivers / nvidia driver / directx 8.1 / everything works great.. I install nascar 2002 and it wont go to the set up screen.. I go to task manager and it shows nascar exe. at 99% usage..But no game . My cdrom lights one time when it starts and then that is it, no Game.. Okay , I got mad and reinstalled the darn o/s again after numerous attempts. Went to the game and poof!! It worked.. Now I have a second computer for my recording studio. I had just cleaned it up and loaded everything the same way and guess what?? No game.. Why me.. What am I doing wrong. I have loaded things half!@# backwards before on older systems and never had a game (not) work.. Is my cdrom not reading something correctly or is it a directx / graphics problem..I have some games like mdk11 and nhl 2002 and others that work fine on both systems. (without cdrom). Please help me before I loose it over Games!! Sorry for not giving all the info.. The reason for windows 2000 is of my recording studio.. It is the most stable with my software.. I have tried all others and it is best. You must be right about the games running on 2000. the crazy thing is It was running great until I reinstalled the os. I did a low level format and went from there. As far as the game cd, I thought the same thing and went and purchased another cd only to find out it did the same thing. Anyway I do appreciate the posts. Thanks for responding. I am not much on playing games. My son loves racing and I wanted to set up a network so we could race together.. Thanks again
