Newbie needing help

hey everyone,
i just signed up for this forum and was wondering if i could get some help or if you could point me in the direction of a faq or something else that would help.

i bought sim city 3000 about 3 years ago, and i recently found it very scratched up. the installation doesnt work, and a window saying error comes up. i downloaded the no cd fix, but i cant get that to work. if someone could explain to me how this works, id be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance for any help.

you'll have to get a game doctor or something, what it does is it spins the disc around and takes off the layers of plastic that are scratched. It keeps going untill your left with a smooth surface. After you do that you might want to make a copy of the disk.

And to make a no-cd work, download the correct version of it (you can find out your game's version in the game's readme file) and copy the downloaded .exe file to the game folder on your HDD.

I would just recommend you copy the exe that was originally in the game's folder to some other safe place on your HDD, just to make sure that you still have the original exe.
