Custom Mods In Steam

After I downloaded the 300MB Steam file, I cant transfer my custom mods to it. Counter-Strike works fine, but when I copy my Vampire Slayer folder to the directory like the web site tells me, it doesnt appear in my games list.

ive put the folder into every imaginable directory someone plz help me :(
