hey im going through hell here guys

my main pc is having problems
everything was working fine until last night

on bootup my computer gets to the windows load screen and then it immediately reboots
ive been at this for over 12 hours in a row
im tired and im going crazy here

any help appreciated

heres what ive done so far

cleared cmos
rebuilt the pc
tried a diff case
tried a different psu
tried installing over the cureent windows xp installation
but it says i have an error with ntf.sys

or something like that
i have everything that is important to me on that pc and reformattin simply is not a option


any help appreciated
and yes all my drivers are up to date

Try loading the default settings from the bios, otherwise you might have to install the OS again.


Your not OC the CPU are you???

I've seen something like this happen to me with 2 different PC's I've built before. Both times, with Windows 2000 & it was a bad hard drive.

That is my guess here. :urpleyes

yeah it sounds like you have a bad drive to me, try swapping out the HD with another one and see how that goes

all sorted guys!!!

my pc is not the same of course
turns out i had a virus that deleted my hal.dll and other dlls from my root/system32 folder in windows

had to reinstall the os.....too bad i ordered a new psu and heatsink fan in my panic
:(

im never touching my pc again

When I have such major problems in the OS, first thing I do before testing the hardware is a simple format :)
