Err I can Run Halo just fine under Win98. It crashes at the second Half part of level 3 buts thats no biggie as its the beta.
What I want to do is run it under Windows Xp where i think the performance will be better. The thing is the game starts and then crashes. I get the Halo loading screen and then before the menu it quits to the desktop with the brightness turned up with another window saying gathering exception data or something or expectancy error data. And thats it. I can't get any further. I tried to roll back to the drivers I have under 98 but it still doesn't work. I check my anti-aliasing settings and still no luck.
Just wondering if other people are running it under XP fine.
I have a G-Force 4 Ti and a AMD 1.4 Athlon if that matters. It is a operating system error as it works under 98.
The game has been brill so far with only a few minor bugs in the actualy gameplay in the beta. As usual gearbox keeps joypad support up with support for pads that have two sticks and full analog support for both.
There was no forcefeedback in the beta but I hope they add it in the final version. After having played the X-box version a lot especially I'm looking forward to the PC version as it seems better overall. I was pleasantly suprised with this beta as I expected a completely unplayable thing. Also did anyone notice that the cloaking thing doesn't work- but the lighting changes on it as light changes in the area you are in. This I don't think was there on the X-Box version and it will be interesting to see how the do it in the final version. This looks to be great game.
