making backup ps2 games on a mac...

alright so i have a superdrive and a ps2 game i want to try to back up. do i need a mod chip? i've seen other posts here describing how to go about copying a ps2 dvd with toast and then burning it onto high quality dvd media but is this all i need to do, or would i need a mod chip?

You need to have a modchip to play the backup.
