Loading time

Right before my splash screen, i get a cursure flashing in the corner of my monitor when i load. It didn't do this before i partitioned my hd. How do i stop it from pinging the d drive, or just get rid of this? And what is startup wait time under the System Properties>Start up and recovery> settings> edit 30 seconds?

That option is for if you have more than 1 OS on your system. It will display a list of OS' for you to choose to boot to for a certain amount of time, in your case 30 secs. If this is enabled on yours and you are only running 1 OS then untick it and it may solve your prob.
