help i've just got a x-box from a friend (gone to ps2) its chipped and the got a 80gb h-drive fitted but wont copy new games to the drive i need to update the software where can i find it

thank u 4 your reply but i am a bit new to this. What do u mean connect via ftp?. And the drive is showing 56 gb free after i have got 16 games stored on it. All i know is if i put older games in it i can copy them to the drive and play them straight from there so they r quicker to run but if i try that with the latest games they will show they r coping but wont run. The chip is a matrix inside? please help.
