Cheat discs/cartridges ?

Hi folks i have a question...I have my ps2 chipped with a Mesiha ( dont know how to spell it ) and i would like to know if one of the cheat discs would work on a chipped machine....I use the Xploder on my psx machine and like it....Been looking on the net at the Xploder for the PS2 but i hav'nt realy found out how it works...If ya put the cheat disc in to activate it once you open the tray to put the game in it will reset the machine would it not so deactivating the cheats.
Has anybody got the same chip as me and uses a cheat disc,does it work OK or not...I would like to find out more about it before i buy.

I've used a action replay 2 and codebreaker disc on my messiah chipped ps2 and both worked fine :).

i have an apple chip (kinda of the same thing as messiah) and gameshark works just fine.

One thing though, if the game is a rip from dvd with stuff taken out, then the cheat codes dont normally work, asfar as im aware.

Thanks guys....The backups are on dvd-r,i do em miself then i know they're right...So explain how the cheat disc works then.For some reason i am slightly confused,how does the machine remember the codes once the tray is opened for the game disc ?

The machine don't forget the cheat codes untill you press reset,even on a unchipped machine you need to press eject to change disc.

If you mean how does it remember the boot code , then it don't ,the chip just gives it to it when it requests it again.

Ahhhhhhhh i see now.Never thought of having to eject it for a poper game.And tyhinking of it,just like the psx xploder that has to be opened as well....Thanks guys,much appriciated...

Well my Action Replay 2 is not working on my messiah chipped ps2...well it does work on original PAL games like it did before getting chipped, but when I try to use it on Original NTSC U/C games entering the US codes from codejunkies it doesn't work. When I want to start with codes I swap discs and press X then it freezes and nothing happens. Anyone know what to do?

Or maybe an Action Replay 2 PAL is not working on NTSC games? But lik-sang said I could enter the US codes manually...
