Hi, can any one throw some help at me ? I chipped my PS2 with a messiha 2 six months ago - it all worked well until recently it started getting jumpy on backed-up DVD's so I thought I would adjust the laser, found the info on the net and went at it. Now it will only read CD media and no DVD's at all ! have I killed the laser ? - not sure how I could have only killed the DVD read part, but I'm not sure how it works anyway ! Is replacing my laser the only option ? and if so does any one know of a site where I can purchase one ? - many, many thanks to any one who can help

To me it sounds like you did fiddle with your laser a bit too much.

just might want to try cleaning your laser first, before the expense of a new one, had the same problem although in my circumstance, I upgraded from a DVDkey chip to a F14, when the DVDkey was installed everything worked well, although had to use Action replay, when replaced with f14, could get ps1 and ps2 cdr's to work but not DVD-R's, after several checks and reinstalls - including installing another new f14 chip I thourghly cleaned my laser and DVD-R's now work.
