I'm new to this thread and have ran into a serious problem with vietcong.

I'm running a cracked version of the game, after adding 1.3 and applying the crack it ran fine i switched on a few days later and i get this message error starting program, unable to run C:\Program Files\Vietcong\vietcong.exe
windows cannot run this program because its an invalid format. I've reinstalled three times now same message any help is greatly appreciated.

Uninstall completely. Then reinstall with the original CD, download the patch, install the patch and get the crack with the same version as the patch.

I've tried that three times sorry i didn't specify the reinstalls were with the origional cd i'm gonna take it back to the shop today and change it for the same game and see if that does anything, my impression is the uninstall programme is corrupt and not taking the full game off though i have manually removed what i think to be it all, temp files etc even using reg edit.

I took it back they changed it for the same game and presto it uninstalled and reinstalled fine. Guess it was the cd strange but i don't really care now anyone with the same problem probably needs to take it back.

I just picked this game up yesterday, used. I hope I don't run into this problem. How IS this game btw?

The games amazing online well my opinion anyhow the only problem is lack of maps so far but that will be sorted with a little luck, theres an expansion soon with 8 new online maps but they really need to let people develope their own like half life etc for it to take off bigtime. Make sure you get the 1.2 patch then the 1.3 patch though there were a lot of bugs when it shipped.

strange about the uninstall, but works now

Vietcong is a cool game, only played it little and singleplayer

not running so smooth on my comp
