newbie troubles

this is the first time i try anything like this:

i want to dl warcraft 3 and the expansion of the internet and be able to play them on my computer without having to create a cd. how would i go about doing this? i tryed dling a few warcraft 3 dl's here but it said it did not have "storm.dll" and therefore i could not play the game. any help much appreciated!!!

but whats the difference between what i am doing and using cracks or other stuff? i see other threads about people asking for help on how to dl games here too. sorry if i offended but i really dont know the differences in these words? is it that they are only editing the game? so whats all the stuff on this website that you can dl? is that stuff illegal wares?

This question has been dealt with loads of times so if you really want to know, put in a bit of effort and seach the forums!

The truth and i may get banned for this but my personal views on this subject are while i actually agree with some games being downloaded and copied. Games of blizzards standard shouldn't be as well they are one of the great developers. If you are gonna try this i suggest you buy warcraft 3 as its such a great game you won't feel you've wasted the money.

I actually got carried away and forgot my point which has been covered loads of times i'm sure but since i'm new, it works like this you can use cracks as long as you own the origional game as far as i'm aware the same with emulated games as long as you own say super mario cart on cartridge you can download the rom, weather you abide by this or not is more a grey area. I'd say when it comes to mame and stuff most people don't, not that many of us own arcade machines but then i'm not really harming the industry as i'm still likely to pump some cash into streetfighter in an arcade as its a different appeal playing it in an arcade than emulated.

I'm sure this has all been covered before and if i'm wrong i'm sure someone will let me know.

As for the "are cracks legal?" question, I suggest you read this thread very carefully. I understand this stuff isn't always easy to understand, and a mistake is quickly comitted. That's why I recommend you read the thread...I'm certain you will understand the matter better afterwards ;)
