I do know that Cd;s are hardly indestructible and that a room full or rabid children can quickly turn a $90 CD into little more than a coffee dunker so i nsist on haveing a 1:1 backup for my games. However i have not backed up a game for well over a year now and it seems that there is so much protection on Cd's nowdays. I have the game named Unreal 2 and i wish to back it up. This is what i thought i would do. But please if what i am doing is horribly wrong please set me on the right track. This is the way i thought this thing might work

Download Back up Cd crack for Unreal ( i know how to install cracks) and then using Nero burn the Cds

By the way my burning software is a little over 8 months old.

Thanks for any replies

You're doing the correct thing so far :) However I would recommend to use CloneCD (assuming of course that your writer is supported by it, you can check that by clicking on one of the links in my signature). CloneCD can bypass some of the protection without the use of a crack.

You just have to make sure that you download the correct version of the crack... for example, if you apply the v1.5 patch (don't know if it exists, I'm just giving an example), you should apply the v1.5 crack, you see?

Come back if you need more help, and a trial version of CloneCD can be downloaded here:

Snails a 1/1 backup doesnt use a crack.
First of all download a program called clony xxl it will tell you the protection on the disk.
Then download alcohole 120 % and clone cd these are burning programs designed to do 1/1 backups.
From there try the programs using the correct settings for the protection.
However now its up to the burner if it can make the back up 1/1
If not then you will need the crack
You will find all you need here http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_utils.shtml
