Live is gonna start kicking into full gear with the release of several online sports titles, Midtown Madness, Brute Force, Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Next year, we have Fable, BC, and Halo 2 (two of which are sure contenders, if not the ONLY contenders for GOTY 2004).

Anybody who doesn't have an X-Box considering picking one up in the next year approx?

Well, my friend did, and I'm at his house all the time, so I'll play all the good games. He has Brute Force, good game. :)

Just got brute force, but have not had a chance to play it yet. It looks pretty cool though :)

Yeah, it's cool Vile. The cooperative campaign play is fun, that is what me and my friend have done. Haven't played deathmatch though, but it supports 8 players which would be really cool to have a game like that. :)

I have brute force... interesting game but has very similar gameplay to the once-announced Halo PC game. Wonder why  :o

Funny you bring that up :)

The games you people love to play so much today remind me of the old games we once had.

Halo has the same concept as Wolf. 3D and Warcraft III reminds me of Dune II.

Companies tend to "attempt" to re-create games that were successful...Go figure.

Valid point there Vile. :) It's true. Wolf 3D and Doom.... great games. Didn't play Dune too much, but it was good when I played it.

Dune II (Westwood Studios) was the first Real Time Strategy game ever created.

After Westwood studios, a bunch of new RTS games spawned.

C&C (by westwood) Warcraft series, Total Annihilation, Age of Empires, etc..List goes on and on. How come people don't rant and say all of these RTS games are a copy of D2? Because it's a given that companies use other ideas to try and expnad on them, and improve them. It doesn't always work out, but they still try nonetheless.

Heh. I am not that much younger than you. remember vile, I too had the enjoyment of experiencing the first FPS game too. Like Quake - man I played that every day.. so fun! And Doom and Wolf3d were a bit different I was sometimes too young for those games..

The thing is however that halo was supposed to be for PC and 3rd person adventure, now you see that is what Brute Force is. Looks like Microsoft wanted to license up a HaloPC-type game. Thoughtful, but I'm not any more impressed than I was when Halo got bought out by Microsux

And you see, Vile, the gameplay is the exact same concept, not different in any way apart from the story and setting. Same gameplay and view. Same style. Just different people, stories, and it is a bit sexier lol.

Yeah, I remember playing Dune II with my friend. Do you know if it was on Sega Genesis? I think I remember it being for that system... but you are right, all those games spawned from that idea. And good thing, I love those games.
