I did a quick search on yahoo, and it came up with this:
http://www.zdnet.com/anchordesk/stories/story/0,10738,2875065,00.html
They give some tips on how to speed it up, but don't expect miracles...:)
u cant really make dialup any faster, but u can optimise it tho.

As Tone says .. you can only optimise your Modem .. I used to use " Web Rocket " when I was on dial up connection .. it did make a bit of improvement .. you can read about it's properties here .. but .. it isn't Free  ;)

Right, you can't make it faster, just slightly.
Get ADSL or broadband instead, that will show some difference.

If you're surfing and you just want pages to display faster, you can't beat Opera (www.opera.com) as a web browser. You wouldn't notice any difference in the loading times on ADSL/Cable though, but you can on 56k.
Give it a go m8y. Download the freeware one first (obviously) to get a feel for it. U haven't got anything to lose.... =)

flip
tell your mum it equates out to a little over a dollar a day for broadband
save that dollar!!
its really nothing
unless you live in an area that has no support like my gf

Try using download accelerator plus....
Dont think you are gonna get speeds like what jameZ has got in the pic he posted, unless you are getting 1MB or Higher.
Edit: (btw: I have adsl - dont expect this from dial up LOL :D)
Jamez is just bragging, i dont even know how you got those speeds on a 512MB connection, I have got a 600K connection and even i dont get any higher then about 80K, my brother has got a 1MB connection and he only just gets speeds like that

When you get the paper work for it all just look on there, or just ring them up and ask them.

HeHeHeHe How do you know that ?!
It says on there website that the speed is 100 times fatster than a 28.8K modem, so it will come out to be about 2MB....
But as i said before that is the maximum.
