or perhaps 2... ;)
1. Can a PS2 play DVD movies burnt onto blank DVD media? Whether it be DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW
2. Can most standard DVD players play these formats as well?
I've never been into this at all, but am thinking of getting involved. :)
Thanks for your time.

1. - YES (although im not entirely sure about dvd-+rw's
2. - YES
if its for your ps2, make sure you use decent media coz most ps2's are picky mofos, and same should apply to your standalone aswell, if u want the movie to play well through the entire film without any jumping towards the last 15-10 mins or so, but some of the newer cheaper players tend to play anything u chuck at them. its the more expensive players that are picky.

no bother.
this might come in handy for checking whether or not your standalone player will play DVD+-R/RW

One thing i've noticed when my ps2 wasn't chipped! If your PS2 is having problems reading it, press triangle and put your disc speed on fast. Helps a lot for some media. :)
Otherwise XCal's got it sorted :D

Yep .. I use DVD-R's and have no problems playing them on either the PS2 or a " stand alone " DVD Player .. as said though .. not advisable to use the very cheap DVD's for Movies ;)

True , dont use the cheap discs. In my experiance dvdrs made by Ritek or discs that use the Ritek dye are the best.
