Hi ! I found out I have over 100 files with a zero size (win XP pro) is it safe to erase them ? are such files of any use ?

You have xp so if you delet it and the system needs it then it will load up a new copy of the file next time you re start, and im talking about 1 or 2 files, not the hole operating system.

PS BE CARFULL IN THERE, my dad went in and he still hasnt come out.

Anyway, if they are located in the temporary internet files, then yes, they may be removed.

Just to be on the safe side mate i would not delete any of them, If they are showing 0 in size then are not taking up space, so just leave them.

Thks ! was thinking about cleaning the directories, not a matter of storage of course. On the other end, i keep wondering why apps "create" 0 bytes files that are useless ?

I think they are just there cos when you use the application it will put temp files in there.

As I said I am not sure but i think that is the answer.

yes I would leave the files alone

strange that it shows 0 byte, well atleast it doesn't take any space :)

I checked iexplorer.exe and iesetup.cif
they are not 0 bytes
