First of is the cdkey the original key that came with the game or is it a key from a keygen.
If its a key that came with the game then the key you have has been locked out/banned.In which case get in touch with them, the contact no. should be somewhere in the manual.Or if you've only just got the game take it back and get in change so you will get a new key.
If the key you are using is from a keygen then the reason why it is'nt working is because its from a keygen, you need to have a original key that comes with the game.

Yes and no i got the Iso version of ccg and i got my cd key from the nfo that came with the iso game. but the cd key worked cause before it installs it asks for it and it went thru.The i had trouble with was the part after i created my account it would go to the next part then exit out back to login and say my seral number is invalid

It will work for install ,but to play online you need a original key as in one that comes with the game when you buy it ,not one from a nfo ,keygen etc.

If you don't have an unique cd key you can forget to play online.

i copied this segment of the nfo (((((((
Note:
~~~~~
If you ever wish to change the key (LAN play e.g. requires unique keys),
take the following steps:
* Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Generals\ergc
from the registry.
* Start Generals_Code.exe from the crack dir, and enter a new key.))))))))))))))))
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
how do i go about finding this file
@Tennz, they do that to prevent people to play their games with illegal copies. The only way to play a game online, is by using a CD key that you and only you use. As soon as there is one single person that also uses the same key, you can forget it to play online.
You only get a unique and valid CD-key when you buy the game. Serials from the internet will never allow you to play online.
Oh my! You illegally download a game and expect the developers to just "Let you be." Geez, you sound like a three year old child who has taken your friends toy, and now mommy has taken it away from you. Get a clue, and buy the game. Piracy never prospers.
P.S. A rule of thumb: Download the game only to see if it is fun enough to buy. If it is fun, then buy the #$%# thing and support developers of future games that will be bigger and better.
Just my $0.02.
Note: If you do not like paying $50 for a game, you can get it online for $35 w/free shipping. Not a bad deal at all.
Even that is illegal and not supported at Megagames.
If you want to test the game to make sure it is worth buying it, try the demo :)
That's how I do it.
