ok i so backed up my copy of BF:1942 today and it installs with no problems. i updated to 1.31 then used the fairlight no-cd crack from megagames.com. well anywayz when i try to load the game it starts ok but at the main menu there are no letters...just the green and red boxes. i thought it might be the no-cd crack so i reinstalled then used my original cd (orginal BF1942.exe file....without a no9-cd crack) but had the same problem. so i thought maybe its my video card. downloaded the newest catalyst drivers from radeon.com but still no success. heres my setup. incase itll help:

AMD athlon XP2200
soyo kt400 dragon ultra plainum edition
2x512DDR400
Radeon 9700 pro
soundblaster live

if anyone can help me id really appreciate it. i did i search on the forums but couldnt find anyone else with the same problem. thanx in advance for any help.

oops i forgot to mention that i used regclean to remove all the battlfield registry entries and deleted the old directory with the no-cd crack files before i reinstalled with the original cd's.

Are you using Windows XP or Windows 2000?
Some video cards have compatibility issues with those OS. Even if you updated the graphic card drivers, you should see if they don't have drivers specially made to make the card work properly under Windows 2000 and XP.

I know Nvidia has such drivers. What you can also do is to try it on another computer... and see if the problem persists there also.

And last but not least, make sure you have the correct version of DirectX and also see if this glitch is mentioned in the Readme file
