I'm playing the demo. I can use the tricorder to open doors but for some reason it won't do anything when I try to use it to turn off the flames in the secret room on level 1. I can't get it to work for mine cart either. I have tried using the x, right click, left click and middle mouse and nothing works it just keeps saying you have to use the tricorder even though it's right there in my hand! help!!

Maybe it is just a restriction: since it is a Demo, it doesn't allow you to use it. I don't know the game, but what you can also do, is getting to the option menu of the game, and see the keyboard settings (see what key you need to use for using it)

the use button is x . It works to open doors but not for the tricorder.

you have to hold the fire button down for a while.....i got confused to for a while. After a sec a bar pops up and shows the progress.

I tried holding the primary fire button down for a few seconds and the x button too, seperately and it still won't do anything.

Ok, you must have a bad copy or something. I just downloaded it and played it again. all i had to do was walk up the the control panel in the hidden room, whip out the tricorder aim it at the panel and hold down the fire buttonwhile it said "modulating" or something. maybe you should reinstall it?

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still isn't working for the steam room!:cussing:

well i don't know what to tell you. Try configuring your keys or mouse different...set the attack our use key to something else
