I currently have a problem with not just one game, but every single freakin game I got! :cussing:

See, what happens is that I start playing a game (any), have a little bit of fun, then my computer either crashes, or the game crashes, or the game freezes. Every game I have does this. This has been happening for a while and I don't know what to do.

My specs:

Windows XP Pro Edition, NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti4200, Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, 512 MBs of RAM, AMD Athalon 900... Any others you need to help just ask.

And yes, I have updated all of my drivers, so don't even ask about those (mumbles about game support). Also, it does not make a difference if I have all of my background programs closed or not, so don't ask about that either (mumbles again).

Possible memory problem? If you get a blue screen before your crash, maybe you could try swapping out memory and see if that helps.

My only suggestions I can think of assuming that you have indeed updated all drivers would be to 1. make sure the cpu fan is running when you power on your computer, and 2. reformat your hard drive an re-install everything - especially if you haven't done this in a long time. Or, 3. ignore me entirely and hope someone else has a better idea ;)

Well I hope someone else comes up with a better idea, because I have reinstalled everything lately and it has not worked...

Search the forums, this issue has been discussed before.

Yes, I remember there was a similar thread, but I don't remember where...
Anyways, what Sublime said could be correct. When your playing a game, place your hand just in front of the ventilation grid on the back of the computer, and make sure you clearly feel the ventilator spinning. If it doesn't, turn off the comp, and get a new one.
It could be the RAM also, check out if your RAM works correctly (unplug it, and try with oither RAM, or place your RAM into another PC and see if the problem persists there as well)

Finally, make sure you don't have viruses. It is possible that your anti-virus (if you have one) is already infected and doesn't detect viruses any more... so try with an online virus scanner (you can find one here (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp))
