Ok here goes for some reason I can’t hear in game music and voices the only things that work are the sound effects... Now I tried reinstalling and what not and yes I’m using the original lets just get that out of the way... when reinstalling I get an error that says "Extracting file failed. It is most likely cause by low memory (low disk space for swapping file) or corrupted cabinet file.” Now I traced this problem back to a codec but that’s where it ran cold…. I lost sound in the game after I installed kazza lite 2.1. Now the codec that the support web site says I have to reinstall I get an error message… any ideas?

I had this problem too. Here's how you fix it.
First Uninstall Freelancer
Then Uninstall nimo codec pack or any other third party audio codecs you have.
Install Freelancer it should help.
The fix for the problem was in the readme file, first time I ever looked at a Read me file and it helped x.x who would have knew..
