The mother of Michael and Ralf Schumacher is in a coma after a fall at her home.
Elisabeth Schumacher suffered the accident last weekend and has been in a coma ever since undergoing an emergency operation.
Michael and Ralf left Imola straight after the circuit to be at their mother’s side at her Cologne hospital.
Ralf told German newspaper Bild Zeitung: "Her condition is certainly stable, but we're still very worried about her.
"Of course, in the circumstances we've been wondering if we should be racing at all, but we are in permanent contact with the doctors."
Both drivers excelled in San Marino Grand Prix qualifying despite the difficult circumstances. Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn said the team was doing everything they could to support Michael.
He said: "People have to come to terms with things like this the best they can. Michael is pretty upset but all we can do is respect that and give him space."
Hope she improves :(
* Edit
Michael Schumacher put in a professional performance under difficult personal circumstances to win his first Grand Prix of the season from Kimi Raikkonen. His mum died :(
