Alonso was third but missed being on the podium because he was taken to hospital with an injury to his leg and neck, he'd crashed into the wreckage of a Jaguar. Race was started behind the safety car and red flagged on lap 53. One of the more exciting races, I love it when it rains, safety car was out 5 times :eek:

hey whats wrong with ferarri! i like shuey but not cos hes winning i rember when he was in the benatons and was strugiling but got his first title that was the day! then went onto ferarri and has improved even more with a better team personally i dont like the mc larens. webber and shuey!! rule and 1 thing in common with both of them is there both good in the wet!

That was one of the best Grand Prix I have seen for ages I loved those crashes. Its a pity the race didn't restart, I bet Coulthard was gutted if he stayed out a bit longer instead of pitting he would have won the race :)

Update

Giancarlo Fisichella has been confirmed as the winner of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

At a meeting in Paris on Friday, the race stewards agreed the Italian – and not McLaren’s Kimi Raikkonen – was the winner of the race.

An investigation into the result was launched on Wednesday after information came to light revealing that Fisichella was on his 56th lap, not his 55th, when the red flags came out to stop the race.

The sport's countback rule means that the winner of a stopped race is the leader two laps before the point at which the red flags are brought out.

The result was initially declared from the positions at the end of lap 53, but this has now been amended to lap 54, the circuit on which Fisichella had passed Raikkonen.
